Island Traders Shipping Policy: Package Pickup Guarantee

At Island Traders, we value our customers and strive to ensure that your packages arrive on time and as expected. In order to provide transparency and accountability, we have established the following shipping policy regarding package pickup delays:

  1. Package Pickup Timeliness Guarantee

    If your package is not available for pickup within the expected timeframe based on your chosen shipping method, you will be eligible for a 10% refund or $10 minimum discount on the Island Traders charges associated with the shipping method you selected at checkout. The 10% discount will be applied to your bill before pickup or if already paid for will be added as credit to your account. Does not apply to commercial customers.

  2. Eligibility

    This guarantee applies if:

    • The package is not available for pickup within the time frame provided at the time of bill approval, based on the chosen shipping method.
    • The delay is not caused by factors outside of Island Traders' control, including but not limited to weather conditions, natural disasters, carrier delays or Bahamas and USA Customs delays.
  3. Claim Process

    To qualify for the refund or credit:

    • Contact our customer service team at customercare@242islandtraders.com or call us at (242)352-3330.
    • Provide your Shipment Request number and details of the delay.
    • Claims must be submitted within 2 days of the expected pickup date.
  4. Exclusions

    This policy does not apply if the delay is due to circumstances outside of Island Traders' control, such as:

    • Carrier delays or service disruptions.
    • Delay is caused by factors outside of Island Traders' control, including but not limited to weather conditions and natural disasters
    • Commercial shipping, where timeframes may vary depending on customs clearance.
  5. Refunds

    Refunds will be issued as a percentage (10%) of the shipping charges paid for the specific order, not including any taxes, duties, or additional services that may have been included in the original payment.

  6. Final Terms

    Island Traders reserves the right to modify or terminate this policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to customers via email or posted on our website.

Island Traders Pick Up Policy: Multiple Shipment Pick-Up Requirement

If a customer has more than one shipment available for pick-up, they are required to pay for and collect all available shipments at the time of pick-up.

  • Partial pick-ups are not permitted.
  • Customers will not be allowed to select or leave behind individual shipments.
  • This policy helps ensure faster turnaround, optimize storage space, and prevent delays or confusion in future pick-ups.

Island Traders Storage Fee Policy

Once a shipment is marked as "Ready for Pick-Up" in-store and you receive email notification for pick up, customers have a maximum of 7 calendar days to pay for and collect their shipment.

  • Day 1 begins the next business day after the notification is sent.
  • Calendar days include weekends and public holidays.

Storage Charges

If the shipment is not paid for and picked up within 7 calendar days, storage fees will be applied as follows:

  • $0.10 per pound per day based on the shipment's chargeable weight, OR
  • A minimum charge of $5 per day, whichever is greater.

Storage charges will continue to accrue daily until the shipment is paid for in full and collected from our location.

Important Notes

  • Storage fees must be paid in addition to shipping costs before a shipment can be released.
  • Unclaimed shipments will be subject to disposal and forfeiture after 15 calendar days in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

Island Traders Shipping Policy: Unclaimed & Unshipped Packages

At Island Traders, we are committed to delivering timely, reliable service. To ensure smooth operations and efficient warehouse management, we have implemented the following policy regarding packages that are not requested from the USA warehouse, paid for, or picked up from the office in a timely manner.

  1. 15-Day Holding Period USA Warehouse

    Customers have 15 calendar days from the date a package is processed and added to their account to:

    • Submit a shipment request
    • Arrange for USA pickup (if applicable).

    Important Notes: Commercial customers have 7 calendar days from the date a package is processed and added to their account.

    15-Day Holding Period for In Store Pick Up

    Customers have 15 calendar days from the date a package is marked as "Ready for Pick-Up" and received email notification for pick up to:

    • Pay for the invoice associated with their shipment request
    • Pick up their items from any of our Island Traders locations
    • Pay and arrange for delivery of their items
  2. Customer Notification

    We will send regular email and/or SMS reminders to notify customers of:

    • Package arrival and processing,
    • Outstanding balances, and
    • Approaching deadlines for the 30-day holding period.
  3. Unclaimed Packages

    If no shipping request is submitted and/or payment is not received within 15 days, Island Traders reserves the right to:

    • Discard, donate, or resell the item(s),
    • Charge a storage fee (reference Island Traders storage policy for more info), and/or
    • Remove the item(s) from your active account with no refund or replacement obligation.

    We are not liable for the loss or disposal of any package that remains unclaimed beyond this window.

  4. Exceptions & Extensions

    If you anticipate a delay in requesting or paying for your package, please contact our support team before the 15-day deadline to request a short extension. Extensions are granted on a case-by-case basis and must be confirmed in writing.

  5. Final Terms

    By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. Island Traders reserves the right to update or revise this policy at any time. All changes will be communicated via email or posted on our website.
